Summer Housing

Duke University hosts residential Summer Programs and Individual Interns/Externs. Duke Summer Program housing assignments are created by the Program Lead.

Individual Interns/Externs apply for summer housing through CES. Individual Interns/Externs are those students who need housing while NOT participating in a Duke Summer Session or registered Duke Summer Program. Individual Intern/Extern housing is available to all area interns/externs so long as they are:

1. 18 years or older prior to their check-in date

2. Registered as a student at a higher education institution for Fall 2025

What do I do if I am locked out of my room?

Please take your key with you every time you leave the building. During weekday and business hours you can go to the CES Office if you are locked out. If it is after-hours or on a weekend, please call the on-call number.

If you lose your key, please come to the CES Office located in the Bryan Center. Lost keys will incur a $135 lost key charge.

How can I submit a Maintenance Request? What do I do if I have an emergency?

Participants should submit maintenance requests using this link. If you have an emergency like a clogged toilet, leaking water, or a security issue (a broken lock or bedroom doorknob), please call (919) 812-8136. Please note that issues with applicances or AC should wait until business hours, as technicians and equipment for repairs are not available after-hours.

Where can I receive mail while living on campus?

Duke students living on campus this summer can continue to utilize the mail box they use during the academic year. Non-Duke students should contact the local Post Office to reserve a PO Box.
